This is a topic that's been brought up by my myself and Chuck Mead <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> on linux-kernel, but at this piont I think it deserves overlap to this list. Here's the basic problem. I/O with both the fdomain SCSI disk and another device (in my case CD-ROM in Chuck's CD or ftp) at the same time leads to a timeout in the SCSI driver something like: (from Chuck's latest message) kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 3351, scsi0, channel 0, id 6, lun 0 Write (10) 00 00 39 f9 1b 00 00 80 00 After a bit (and a bunch of messages) this then panics the kernel ending with Kernel panic: scsi: <fdomain> fdomain_16x0_queue() NOT REENTRANT! In swapper task - not syncing Both of us are using RH 6.0 with various 2.2 kernels. Much more info can be found in the following messages to linux-kernel (these are in chronological order and do not inclued replies): Chuck's original message http://kernelnotes.org/lnxlists/linux-kernel/lk_9908_04/msg00296.html My original message http://kernelnotes.org/lnxlists/linux-kernel/lk_9908_04/msg01076.html My next message (more info about my system) http://kernelnotes.org/lnxlists/linux-kernel/lk_9909_01/msg00617.html Chuck's latest message (lots of info about his system) http://kernelnotes.org/lnxlists/linux-kernel/lk_9909_01/msg00912.html Any advice or notes would be appreciated, Thanks, -Dean Townsley <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-scsi" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
