Full description of problem:
I have a scsi based system (adaptec 2940U) running SuSE 6.2 (Kernel 2.2.10) with
two disks. Disk one contains 200MB FAT partition (Dos) and two HPFS partitions
(300MB OS/2 system and 500MB OS/2 data).
Disk two contains linux (4 GB).
I use the OS/2 boot manager.

The problem: Accessing one of the hpfs partitions (mounting it and copying files
from it to the linux filesystem for example) leads to the error messages listed
below in /var/log/messages:

Dec 5 18:07:26 Obelix kernel: (scsi0:0:0:0) QUEUE_FULL status received with 0
commands active.
Dec 5 18:07:26 Obelix kernel: (scsi0:0:0:0) Tagged Command Queueing disabled
Dec 5 18:07:41 Obelix kernel: scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 18733,
scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Read (6) 02 06 65 01 00
Dec 5 18:07:43 Obelix kernel: SCSI host 0 abort (pid 18733) timed out - resetting
Dec 5 18:07:43 Obelix kernel: SCSI bus is being reset for host 0 channel 0.
Dec 5 18:07:46 Obelix kernel: (scsi0:0:0:0) Synchronous at 10.0 Mbyte/sec, offset 15.
Dec 5 18:07:46 Obelix kernel: (scsi0:0:1:0) Synchronous at 10.0 Mbyte/sec, offset 15.
Dec 5 18:07:46 Obelix kernel: (scsi0:0:1:0) Performing Domain validation.
Dec 5 18:07:46 Obelix kernel: (scsi0:0:1:0) Successfully completed Domain validation.

Only the first few files were copied ok. Then, if one does not kill the file
access action, the system gets into heavy load condition up to a level at which
it is practially unuseable.
Doing the same action on the FAT partition, which resides on the same disk -
no problem. Accessing the hpfs partitions at raw device level (f. ex. using dd)
does also not showup the described problem - all works right in that case.

>From that, I deduct it is not a hardware problem as one can think reading the
error list above. Consequently, lowering scsi bus access speed for disk 0 does
not change the behaviour, also not changign TCQ status and parameters.

HPFS access worked on my system at earlier versions (2.2.5 and earlier).

Below, I enclose some configuration output from my system:

Can you help to solve the problem?

Kind regards
