I've no idea to do that on NT, so I made this test:
Both a SCSI CD-ROM and 4mm DAT are connected to the TMC 9C50.
While a full tape erase has been sent (quite a long job), I've complete
CD-ROM acces where a recusive dir
(DIR /S) gives me pretty good performances. I guess that if disconnection
was not allowed, CD-ROM performances should not be so good. Right ?
I've no idea how to progress now, except to add a
#if defined( ALLOW_DISCONNECTION )
in Linux driver and leave with it. After all, this laptop is not used as a
server ;^)
and having periodic CD-ROM, disk or DAT is not so bad.
Of course, a better solution is still a must!!
Christian.
