Term power normally is provided by the host adapter, but diodes should
protect anybody, so more than one device can provide it.

A good example for a _completely_ _useless_ bug report. It will be just
ignored by anyone. It misses important info:

* What tape device is being used (/proc/scsi/scsi)?
* What SCSI hostadapter, what driver, what version?
* Is the bug reproducible? Did it happen just once? Always at the same
  place? With different tapes?

Anyway, if a tape device reports hardware failure, there is not much
software can do ...
Please contact your hardware vendor.
