Brian, Welcome to the list! It's certainly a big plus
for everyone concerned that Adaptec's got a visible
presence here. I hope you've got tough skin, this can be
a rough crowd and SCSI has been shown to cause grumpiness.
But I also hope you stick with us.

At the risk of sounding like Someone Who Knows,
I'll try to answer your question.

AFAIK, there isn't an FAQ per se, just a lot of
the same questions coming up over and over :)

This is where I found this list's archives, there
may be others:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/

Some of the frequently provided answers can be found
in the Linux SCSI docs, possibly to be found in your
source tree,
/usr/src/linux/Documentation/scsi-generic.txt

A more complete version is available at:
http://www.torque.net/sg/p/scsi-generic_long.txt

There's a HOWTO doc,
ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO-SCSI-Programming-HOWTO

There's also an AIC-7XXX mailing list,
http://www.luga.at/mailing-lists/aic7xxx/

Hope some of that helps, I'm sure someone will pipe
up with even better information.
