I had almost the same ( 2940U2W with two Seagate LVD drives ) and it
booted, although I never was able to get it to work properly (kept
hanging temporarily). Now the 2940U2W sits in my trash bin. I suspect it
was the aic7xxx driver, but never got any assist from the maintainer.
If you can, try unplugging the CDROM and see if it will boot. Also, be
certain to patch the aic7xxx up to the most current available.
