Can't see any memory allocation problem there. It looks
as if the cdwriter didn't like that MODE SELECT(10) command
it was given. Did this cdwriter work with some other
combination of linux kernel+cdrecord?

Perhaps you could try the "cdwrite" list at 
[EMAIL PROTECTED] The instructions for unsubscribing
