Hi,

I have linux redhat 5.2 and want to install the
adaptec 2940 card on it. I know it uses the
aic7xxx module and wanted to know if the redhat 5.2
version already has support for the aha-294x family
or do I have to update the kernel module? If so,
where do I get the most recent stable version
that will work with the 5.2 RH kernel (2.0.36)

Another question is on how to connect two scsi
cards to the same device. We want to have two
servers look at the same drive. One will mount the
drive as read only and the other rw. Can we simply
plug the two servers to the same drive? assuming
that we make sure that the scsi ids of the cards
are not the same?? So we will have the following
configuration?

server 1 [scsi id 7]
  connects to
scsi raid [scsi id 8]
 connect to
server 2 [ scsi id 6]

Is this legal to do?? Someone suggested this
configuration and I am not sure if it is duable
and I do not want to risk damaging any hardware
by doing so with out checking with you guys..

Thanks in advance

Adonis
