Take a quick look at /proc/major to make sure that sd.o is using more
than one major number.

    Note that you can get into trouble as things currently stand if you are
loading some of these things as modules.  By trouble, I don't mean anything
really serious, I mean that you won't be able to use the devices.   If you
get into this fix you can modify the parameter SD_EXTRA_DEV (in a 2.2
kernel) which is the maximum number of disks that you want to load from
modules.  In a 2.4 kernel, this is now set during normal kernel config.
