Fixed, finally. Netscape hides the fact it base64-encoded my mail under
the option "Formatting - Use HTML-Editor". For sure I then disabled sending
html-formatted mail in another option for balance :-)

In my experience many ugly things in computing can easily be explained
by historical development. It is difficult to come up with something beautiful
right from the start. Probably this design was expanded over time ...

In fact it is standardized (PCI Rev 2.2 specification)
Base Class= 07 (simple communication controller)
Sub Class = 00 (serial controller)
Interface = 01-06 for 16c450-950
But it seems the vendors didn't understand how to do boards with
multiple serial ports! I assume they should have used "subfunctions" (max. 8!).
So everybody came up with different BAR and Offset usage.
