Please help.
The sound card is installed properly (I think).
It was found in log file:
kernel: Creative SBLive! at 0xd800 on irq 10

But:
aumix-minimal: aumix: error opening mixer

I have checked the /dev/mixer. It existed.
crw------- 1 root sys 14, 0 Apr 18 1999 mixer

Is these any problem?

Thanks.

Hello,

I have something to tell you. I didn't believe it really works, but it
works.
Last month I earned 20 $ while surfing the Internet. This service sent me a
check, I went to bank & these 20 $ was mine, and these are still mine. I
didn't work so much because this doesn't want online statuus for earning.
Who wants to eplanation how to do this and earn money like me, should do
this:
Send me a e-mail message with SUBJECT : EARNING, HOW? In the message body
should not write anything, only name of his country.
How I earned money with no online works? It is about MLM (Multlevel
Marekting). It really works.
Explanation will be in the e-mail

Thanx.

Sincerely,

Nick

[redhat 6.2, kernel 2.2.16]

hi,

i decided to upgrade to kernel 2.2.16 from 2.2.14 as i installed a new
eicon diva isdn card.

i configured the driver into the kernel, but on boot i see

ISDN subsystem Rev: 1.100/1.84/1.114/none/none/1.4
Eicon active ISDN driver Rev: 1.25/1.11/--/1.33
Eicon active ISDN driver Release: 1.83
Eicon: No supported PCI cards found

not quite sure where to take it from here... last time i installed a
PCI network card it recognised it on boot... any tips? i can't seen
to findn an isdn howto. which is bizarre, as i'm sure there one
existed.

thanks,
brydon

Did you select `custom' [recommended] or `server'

Yup, sounds like `server' class installation

http://www.redhat.com/support/manuals/RHL-6.0-Manual/install-guide/manual/doc020.html

> When we restarted the machine, we found the machine went into

You'll have to use LILO (Linux Loader) or a
win-based boot loader. It depends upon the order
of installation:

 1) Windows, 2)Linux, => LILO/LOADLIN

#NOTE: 'Custom' installation class will ask you
about applying LILO to your MBR (Master Boot
Record) or boot partition

 1) Linux, 2) Windows => Win boot loader

'server' installation class takes all, on the
other hand, you have to issue the command

mount -t ntfs /dev/hda1(sda1) /mnt/cdrom (mkdir
WinNT later)

#NOTE: `ntfs' may not be immediately available.

As always RTFM is *not* an option with Linux:

You don't. Use Linux's 'fdisk' to delete all of
the paritions from your CLI (Command Line
Interface). Type `init 1' before using `fdisk'.

You may have to re-install it now, if it's
completely gone. If you are going to give up,
just remember that Linux separates men from

Hi Folks,

i've tried to share a removable media (Floppy and ZIP drive) over NFS.
The floppy is locally mounted on the server (RH 6.2) which exports this
filesystem via NFS to an client (SuSE 6.3). i'm able to mount and
unmount the exported filesystem on the client (everything is working
fine!). but if i try now to umount the floppy on the server i get the
message 'device busy'. after killing nfsd i'm able to umount. so it
seems that nfsd keeps the device busy.

does anyone know what's the problem?

Thanks,

If this happens when you are trying to run kppp then you can solve this
problem by editing the options file in /etc/ppp.
Just put # in front of the word lock.

Most external modems will work with Linux in general, the internal modem=

Any external serial MODEM should work fine. You could also try a PCMCIA
MODEM card. Check the harware compatibility list for Linux. A few
Lucent WinMODEMS work with Linux with the proper settings - but I cannot
