Maybe it is too late to answer your question, but ...
Good news: it is possible.
I my mind is right, I remember you must install FIRST Windows NT and
then install the 2 others. Otherwise, the NT boot will erase LILO.
Maybe it is more easy to use Partition Magic to do this, but I never did
it.

This is a relic from the old days of computing. To be able
to have multiple operating systems accessing the same disk,
the partition table has been strictly designed.
You may have up to 4 primary partitions in it, and one of
these may be of the type "extended".

And you can always change the runlevel your in by `init RUNLEVEL_NR`
This way you don't need to change the defaults. But, if you're going to
mess with XF86Config, you'd better change inittab too (just in case you
mess up)!

Dear Linux users,

I hope that this question is not too frequently asked...

On my system, running SuSE Linux 7.0, floppies are automatically mounted
using 'autofs' (automount).
Unfortunately these floppies are mounted as "root". As a result, they
are only writable for "root", not for the other users.

My floppy is mounted on /auto/floppy. The file "/etc/auto.auto" is the
following:

floppy -fstype=auto,rw :/dev/fd0

I have tried to mount with the option umask=111", so that the floppy is
mounted with all permissions set to "rw". As a result, no user may enter
/auto/floppy, I think because the directory /auto/floppy and the
directories of the floppy are now not set as executable. I tried to
mount with umask=000, but this doesn't work and is moreover very messy.

Would you know how to solve this problem in a nice way?

Would it be an idea to make a group "floppywriters"? If yes, how?

Thanks a lot in advance.

What you do can be done with fdisk just fine too. I would advise against
it though. If you know where a partition starts and ends, you can
make/destroy it without data loss. But always keep in mind that it is a
dangerous process, since even a minor typo will destroy data. I think
that if an OS needs a primary partition, you'd better get an extra HDD
if you don't have room for it, then messing with the partition table
like you did. BTW linux will not like this, since it will move partition
numbers around. Only OS's that number partitions on a basis of partition
ID's (Which causes more trouble than it solves) will handle this without
a problem.

My PC is fitted with two screens: a PL70i and a S110.
The dual head configuration doesn't work. My X server works only on the

Is there someone who can help me?
Thank you.

Hi,

No answer, but if it makes you feel any better, I too have had that
problem over the weekend. I am on NT and I think it might have something
to do with the number of files I had on the disk. Not the size of them, in
all, but the number of them. Does this sound familiar to you? Did you have
a large number of files too?

Does your version of RH have "mkbootdisk", this should do the trick.
I am assuming you are using a SCSI tape device (/dev/st0). This
requires support for scsi_mod, st, and your SCSI adapter; either
built-in or as loadable modules. See "man bootdisk". After booting
you can see if your drive is detected by using "dmesg | less".

You should see something like this: (edited)

  Detected scsi tape st0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 2, lun 0

Hi,

Add this to your .Xdefaults file:

Netscape*documentFonts.sizeIncrement: 10

You can use an higher number if necessary. It works for

xf86config and Xconfigurator are two of several programs that will
create an X configuration file. xf86config, in particular, is a
text-mode tool (I don't recall offhand what Xconfigurator does in terms
of a user interface). Therefore, to run xf86config, just:

1) Log on in text mode (as you've figured out how to do) using the
root account (that is, type "root" when the system gives you the
   "login:" prompt).
2) Type "xf86config".
3) Answer all the annoying questions.

#3 is the killer. As somebody else posted, you've got to have a lot of
information -- your video card's make, model, and chipset; amount of
RAM; monitor's maximum horizontal and vertical refresh rates; etc. Some
configuration tools let you futz around and experiment a bit, but I
don't know offhand precisely what comes with Storm Linux. (xf86config
comes with most distributions, but for easier-to-use tools, there's
less commonality across distributions.)

It sounds like you may have an IRQ conflict. Use 'lspci -v' to see what your
cards are being assigned. You can change the IRQ's. Some BIOS setups allow you
to change them. Otherwise you can move the cards themselves to different PCI
slots. Some cards don't mind sharing an IRQ, some do.

Also, not the port numbers that lspci reports for each card. Change your
/etc/modules.conf (or /etc/conf.modules in some Linux) to reflect the
correct io= and irq= for each particular module in the options statement. Like:
        options modname io=0x278 irq=5

Or if you are not loading the support for each card as a module, you will
have to pass the parameters via LILO at boot time.

You might check the following out in /usr/src/linux/Documentation:

        modules.txt
        kernel-parameters.txt (ether= )
