Sound Card Configuration Notes - SiS 7012 Linux Driver Install Documentation
This driver file can be downloaded from the ASUSTek FTP site
(ftp.asus.com.tw) or by clicking here. Before you install this driver, you
should make sure that your kernel had enable "sound card support" (the
option of "sound" item in building kernel). This driver is for kernel RedHat
7.2 kernel 2.4.7-10. You can install this driver by using script "install"
or follow steps descributed below:
Check that you have kernel-source in /usr/src/x.x.x
Change linux_src_directory to correct path in "config.in"
Generate driver module by issuing the following commands:
"make soundcore.o"
"make ac97_codec.o"
"make"
Copy the files soundcore.o , ac97_codec.o , sis7012.o to the directory
named:
/lib/modules/2.4.7-10/kernel/drivers/sound/
Modify the file "/etc/modules.conf" and add the following two lines:
below sis7012 ac97_codec soundcore
alias sound-slot-0 sis7012
Reboot your computer and configure sis7012.
