Hello,
Sorry for this cross-posting to you all. Some of you might get double.
Currently, I am proposing to develop a manufacturing system information
integration system. For the first step, the company wants to integrate the
shop floor into network environment with all CNC machine tools. It is DNC
project, if that ring a bell.
The integration may involve machine tool controllers, PC clients (in the
shop floor) and PC servers (distributed, at appropriate office env.).
The number of machine controller will be 44, PC clients=15, and 5 servers.
Most of the machine controllers are made in Japan.
Platform for this job will be LINUX, no M$ !!!
Development time schedule: 6-12 months (decided based on complexity).
First prototype client should be finished within 4 months.
Client is considered important due its function as a bridge of protocols
LSV/2 (MMS/MAP) - TCP/IP
What is the prices for following ... per man-hour.
programmer for linux
KDevelop will be used.
system analyst
creating model using UML (Rational Rose 2000, at M$)
and ERD (ERwin, at M$).
(at least ... we still need M$ ..., since there is not yet
similar modeling tools at Linux).
database designer + developer
PostgreSQL
protocol/interface developer
LSV/2 - machine controller specific protocol
TCP/IP -
developing proxy for those two protocols!!
Please share me your info of how you make development pricing/costing
structure such as the one above. Hopefully, you have more info's
than requested. I need to have some idea how to propose soft.
development budget.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated ...
Thank in advance.
Sincerely
++ pit ++
Note:
Please, this is not a project proposal to be followed up ..
(not yet, at least). I've wrote soft. specification, budgeting
for hardware, software stuff, but not yet development activities.
