i have a micronics m6dpi dual ppro. 2.0.35 works fine. 2.1.xxx dosnt work. is it known if this board is compatable with the newer irq handling code of 2.1.x? the 2.1.x kernals give errors relating to IO-APIC errors. something on the lines of "timer not connected to pin(x)" then it goes through multiple pin numbers x, then panics and locks. i have tried to append pirq=0 to lilo. didnt affect it. i have tried using both 1.1 and 1.4 smp standards. i have also tried reinstalling the bios, no difference. there are no newer bioses for this board that i have found. i have tried running the board with one chip, but some other error occured i cant remember. the io-apic seemd to be ok, tho. the mb has the 440fx chipset, i960 processer, adaptec aic-7xxx, cirrus video card, ide, floppy all built in. ALSO? is there some way that i can have the bootup output printed directally to printer, or to floppy while it is booting, so that i can have a hard copy of it and not have to type the whole thing out?
