I'm looking for a vendor to provide me with a very basic, pre-built, two-processor SMP i386 system. I want this to be a second machine on my home network and I don't want to pay a lot for it. I'd rather not spend hours and hours spec'ing and assembling this thing, so I hope one of you can recommend a place to call. It'll have two purposes: 1. Offer me a system on which to learn more about SMP-based threaded code. 2. Give me more file storage space and another place to run 'make' on. Older Pentium performance is adequate -- I just want a place to run code where threaded code can spread out and run on more than one CPU. I could move my aging 17" monitor over to it if it had reasonable graphics, but I'd be just as happy to leave that on my old P133. So heavy graphics aren't the point. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Even a nice template of "we bought this here and that there" would be very useful. I didn't see anything like that on the mailing list website.
