Okay, well now that we're all on 2.2.*, I'd like to stir the pot again
with the whole /proc support for getting better info for multiple CPUs
for programs such as top and xosview, etc.  Currently, my top doesn't
show anything about what's going on with each processor--just that I
usually have "2 running".

In the past (2.1.1xx), I had a "special" procps and a patched kernel
that did what I wanted, but is this still necessary?  I was hoping that
some of the stats made it into 2.2.0.  Is the author of procps lurking,
and what's the plan for '99?
