Hi.

I just bought a dual 266MHz PII PC which uses a Tekram motherboard model
P6B40D-A5.

I installed Linux RedHat 4.2 and recompiled kernel v. 2.0.30 with the
SMP flag on but apparently the second CPU is not seen correctly as it is
reported with 2.6 BogoMIPS instead of the expected 270 or so. Also,
programs run on this machine at half the normal speed or worse so that
the overall performance is slightly less than a single processor 266MHz
PII.

I tried kernel 2.0.35 but the machine couldn't even boot and got stuck
with a "IRQ DEADLOCK DETECTED BY CPU 0 (or 1)".

Tests with development kernels gave even worse results (possibly due to
the too old version of the software installed).

Did anybody on the list succesfully use this motherboard?

Cheers
