Hello,

I've noticed that on some of the kernels (2.1.120,124,125,127,128,129) the
mouse will occasionally take on a mind of it's own moving erratically
around the screen, clicking and double clicking my desktop into a terrible
mess. Regular mouse movement and clicking do not function when the mouse
is in its Mr. Hyde state. The crazy behavior sometimes ends after 30 or
so seconds.

I presume the problem has something to do with the IO-APIC *simply*
because the time for the "downloading sequence blah-blah-blah" message
takes longer than normal when I have a kernel that possesses a Mr. Hyde
mouse. I apologize for the loose connection but ignorance and a
horrendously busy schedule preclude action other than this email.

The most recent kernel without a Mr. Hyde mouse is 2.1.119, although I
have not tried all kernels between 119 and 129.

The motherboard is a Micronics W6LI-SHO, two PPROs, and my socks are
white.

Feel free to contact me if I can be of any other help.

                thanks for the SMP kernel,
                Rich
