Just like Marc I want to test my SMP configuration. Actually I know my
2 processors are used (I make them work enough), but i wonder if i
should be running a 2.1.xxx kernel rather than a 2.0.xx. Not so long
ago I tried a 2.1.130, but the system, then, didn't respond as smoothly
as it did w/ a 2.0.34. In fact, mouse movements and animations were
rather "jerky" (*).
[I haven't yet tried to compare the result of
a kernel compilation, since I don't know if the results would speak
in favor of one or the other]

                                                        A+
seb.

(*) that's what my dictionary says for the french word "saccad"
but it feels strange to me...
