We have recently (last night) installed stock RedHat 5.2 - Apollo onto a
Dual XEON 450 MHz, then simply compiled stock 2.1.131, set LILO and
rebooted.

Since then we've had parallel compiles (our app takes 32 minutes to compile
end-to-end on this box with -j6) for 10 hours straight now (average load
over 8). It's going past it's first 24 hour mark and is still up and stable.
Even better, with such a high load, it still has a pretty responsive command
prompt.

DUAL XEON 450 MHz, Intel 440GX mobo, onboard Ultra2WIDE Adaptec SCSI with
ultra-wide disk. 512 Meg RAM, 512 Meg SWAP (4 x 128 Meg)

kernel source can be had at ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.1

I'm happy! :-)
