It wasn't a "problem" in that something wouldn't work, it was a
performance issue. To see the performance differential, one needs to
try copying large files (the linux kernel tarball is a good choice or
one can make a really big file with dd). We saw close to an order of
magnitude improvement in NFS write speeds (not reads, which are less
affected) TO a sun server with tuning, as in order of a few hundred
KB/sec -> a few MB/sec (on a switched 100BT connection). You cannot try
this one twice in a row with the same file, BTW, or caching will defeat
the test -- touch it in between. If the problem is finally resolved,
that's great news.

I believe that this is the same thing, although we saw actual corruption
of file images as noted before without it.
