I also cannot get sound to work on my system with 2.2 kernels. It worked just
great with 2.0.xx.
My system:
Micronics W6-Li with two PPro 180's
onboard Sound Blaster
64 MB RAM
I can play CD's through my CDROM without any problems and I can get sound out
of my Hauppage WinTV card, but playing an MP3 results in:
x11amp:
Couldn't open audio!
mp3blaster:
Failed to open sound device.
Any ideas what might have changed? I also moved from Slackware 3.3 to Debian
2.1 at about the same time so I think that also had something to do with it.
Any ideas?
