maybe this is a FAQ although I didn't find it:

how can I avoid, that a single process or a bunch
of processes in user land takes all the physical
memory, eg. allocate 150 MB of RAM on an 128MB
machine with a 128MB swap space.

I'm looking for something like limit or ulimit.
Limit in csh does not work as I expect it.

I want to set hard limits, so that the machine keeps
running even if someone tries to get all memory.

thanks in advance

cheers
jo
