I always choose "SCO" during smartstart and haven't had any problem
in SMP mode with 1850R's. Note that if you're installing RedHat, it
won't recognize the integrated ethernet card during the install. After
you're finished with the install, you have to bake a new kernel with
support for the "TI Thunderlan" card.

I also have not had any problems, though I'm using the integrated
symbios SCSI controller rather than the 2SL or 2DH raid controller
(I wasn't able to find a driver). The systems are very solid with
Redhat 5.2 and kernel 2.2.5.
