I read somewhere that AMD was working with Compaq (Digital) to provide
a chip that was EV6 (or somesuch) compatible and thus, would support
SMP a la Alpha. I don't remember a whole lot else, but it let me to
believe that AMD's SMP would be different from Intel's (different
spec.).
