You can have at most two Pentium II or P III processors in a machine.
This isn't the case for Pentium (II III) Xenon processors.  The Xeon will
support 4 processors out of the box (I have seen possible 8 processor
configurations, but I am not sure of there Linux compatability).  as far
as Alpha's go, I am not sure.  

For 100bt Ethernet, I would suggest the Intel Etherexpress Pro 10/100 PCI.
I have had good luck with it in the past on SMP machines.  It is a little
more expensive then the others (D-Link, Netgear, etc..) but I think it is
worth it.  

As far as large memory, I believe that you can put 1 Gig without any
kernel modifications, and 2 Gig with a few modifications.  I heard
somewhere that you can put 3 Gig in, but I have no idea what kind of
modifications you would need.
