I have an IBM PC Server 325 dual-processor Pentium-II 300 MHz system for my
Linux system. Caldera OpenLinux 2.2 runs fine out of the box, but I'd like
to run SMP.

I tried recompiling with SMP enabled a couple of times, but I always
receive, on boot, the error of "Kernel panic: VSF: Unable to mount root fs
on 08:07."

Any ideas? NT Workstation and Server run fine, out of the box, on this
system and use both processors. I didn't have to do anything for them to
work, but the Linux config perplexes me, even after reading a whole day's
worth of HowTo's and other scant documentation.

My disk config is as follows:

8:1 FAT SDA1
8:5 NTFS SDA5
8:6 NTFS SDA6
8:7 / SDA7

Please help,
Mike
