I have an interupt related problem, and it just returned the other day... I was editing a program in nedit. I had an x term open and was running X (duh huh). the program that I was working on is basically an editor, with some added file processing. My mouse went awol and bezerk. I moved it up and down the cursor went all over the place. I moved it left and right, the mouse went whereever. I then used Alt-Tab to tab betweem programs and shutdown my nedit windows then did a kill -9 on gpm. Closed my xterm, and then did a ctrl-alt-backspace, and was at the console again. I know that this is SMP specific as I posted on the linux-kernel mailing list and nonoe with a UP system had this problem. X was still respondant to my keystrokes. Alt-tab, Alt-F+X, exit, etc... The mouse moved but not where it was supposed to, and gpm worked at the console when I ran gpm again. I was able to startx and did not have more problems, but it was really annoying, as not all X programs have accelerator keys like Alt-F or Alt-Q. As it seems that there are others that are having interrupt related problems, I think this may be a kernel / SMP bug. Can someone tell me what is different about IO-APIC and XT-PIC? I think that this may be causeing the interupt problem in some motherboards and/or hardware. I tried gpm -R and some other options and gpm -R does not work on my machine. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
