I would like to build a small 2 processor 2 node Beowulf cluster. I
am now trying to determine the best board and processors to use for the
price. I am thinking now that one of the better combos is the ASUS
P2B-DS board and 2 P-III 450 processors. My problem is how can I have a
better chance of getting 2 processors that have the same stepping before
I bring them home. I was planning on doing mail order from a respectable
place (perhaps NECX or KREX) but even then there are no guarentees. It
seems like the only way to be sure is to have a store build it for you
which increases the price significantly. Does any one have any
suggestions?
