Hi, I have a few questions: 1) Has anyone else experienced a ppp connection slowdown? I am using kernel 2.2.11, ppp a a module. I have tried kernels 2.2.9 to 2.2.11 and also tried 2.2.11 with the ppp-2.3.8-kernel-patch(?). Basically I connect to my ISP and then after a few minutes of surfing, IRC or whatever the TCP/IP connection drops to a crawl. It seems to work a bit better now with ppp 2.3.9 and default kernel 2.2.11thou, but it still slows down. I feel it may be my ISP but wanted to do a sanity check to see if anyone else was experiencing this? Traceroute returns 8 second hops or more, and ping does not return. 2) I am also recieving the following messages in my /var/log/ppp-log file. I know why it cannot load these modules it is because I do not have them. I have enabled all the normal things for ppp and / or slip and they do not create these modules. They are not in my /etc/conf.modules either. Any idea what may be causing this messages? >Aug 18 21:17:28 Lserver modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-21 >Aug 18 21:17:28 Lserver modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-26 >Aug 18 21:17:28 Lserver modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-24 3) FYI: The bezerko mouse is back again. I was having this problem with a serial mouse, and kernels less than 2.2.10. I now have 2.2.11 and a PS/2 mouse and this afteroon it occured again, only this time it froze the machine, the harddrive and the keyboard. I had to reboot it with the reset switch (hard reboot). My machine had an uptime of about 1.2 days. 4) (stupid question but ..) With the frame buffer dev how many pengins should I see? I am seeing 2. Is this one per processor or something or is it normal? 5) When I set a video mode (vga=ask in lilo) lets say 132x25 it starts to run at the mode I set then it resets the mode during the kernel part of the boot (not the scripts). Then when it reaches the console the colors are changed, and I have to type reset to fix the colors? Any ideas here? -- Joseph Acosta ........
