I've set up a PowerEdge 2300 with dual P2- 350. It is incredibly
stable. Has been running for more than 2 months now...I've had it
running a Netbench 6 test for a day with 20 100 Mbit clients and it was
rock stable (and it had almost linear scaling..)... Actually I haven't
had any problems whatsoever with this box.

        Here's the setup:

        Dual P2- 350
        256 MB RAM
        Intel Pro 100 NIC
        Adaptec AIC 7890, Adaptec 7860, Adaptec 2940 U2W scsi-controllers
        6 Western Digital Enterprise 18300 Ultra2 drives and 1 IBM Ultrastar 18
LZX drive
Sony SDT 900 , DAT drive
        NEC SCSCI CD-ROM drive

It's running two 3 disk SW raid 5 arrays, Redhat 5.2 and kernel 2.2.6
with raid patches... It backs up 110000 files every night. Serves app.
32 100 Mbit NT clients and 10 Win 95 clients.

I've had it running Redhat 6.0 in the beginning, but it was way to
unstable...If you're planning to run Redhat I'll suggest you stick with
5.2...

best regards

Christian
