Hi,
Bttv works fine on my system. Here's a rundown of the hardware and
software:

BP6 motherboard and dual Celeron 400A CPU's
Hauppauge WinTV model 404
kernel 2.3.18ac8 + Ingo's smp-2.3.18-F8 patch
bttv driver from kernel 2.3.18ac8
xawtv 3.0beta7

Both fbtv and xawtv work fine in SMP mode. Which bttv driver were you using?
