Had all of the problems described below w/2.2.6 kernel in SMP
mode. I was both an NFS client *and* a server and rec'd a lot of
non-deterministic errors including solid lock-up. Re-booted in
2.2.6 kernel in non-SMP mode and problems went away.

Down loaded and compiled 2.2.12 kernel and booted in SMP mode. NFS
problems -- both as client and server -- appear to be fixed. Have
only been up for a couple of days, but so far so good!

                        Regards,

                        Jerry Place
