Hey all, I just built a smp box thats gonna power a decent traffic website (5-10k hits per day), majordomo, ftp, and some minor (400-500) emails a day. Stats: Abit bp6 MB, dual 500 mhz celerons, 256 meg ram, and 2 ultra dma 33 hds (18gig) each on one 66dma ide channel and 1 ultra dma 33, cdrom each on one 33dma ide channel. So I am using all 4 channels.. Figured I would get the max performance out of the system by putting 1 drive per channel. I am going to mirror the 18 gig drives using software raid included in linux. Any suggestions on which of the latest kernel revs I should be using? I of course am looking for it all:) Stable, good smp support, good networking, good raid support, oh and of course maximum performance, heh. I am thinking 2.2.13 since it has some smp fixes in it. Should I go with a dev kernel instead? This site should be rocking 24/7. I am gonna be using a stripped redhat 6.0 as the base. Thanks.. Mike -- Friends help you move.
