Check all the threads in the linux-kernel archive
(http://www.progressive-comp.com/Lists/) and search for BP6 in the
Subjects and Bodies. There are a lot of messages about this boards
performance, lack thereof, successes, failures, caveats, etc.
Personally, I am using a BP6 with 2 x Celeron 400 with reletivly little
trouble. If you look through the archives you'll see the questions and
trouble I've had in the past. You'll probably be able to answer your own
questions.
To answer your questions quickly: (1) Yes. (2) Make sure you have good
heatsinks/fans/cooling. (3) Heat is your enemy.
