it seems like you already have a dual P5 mobo.  is there something
wrong with what you have?

and what do you mean, the aic7xxx module won't work with modular kernel?
1) aic7xxx built-in and kernel using *any other* modules breaks?
2) aic7xxx doesn't work as a module itself?
if 1, then there is definately something wrong.  please post details.
if 2, are you booting from a scsi disk?  did you make an initrd with
the aic7xxx module on it?

also P5's are pretty old.  there's nothing wrong with keeping a
working setup, but perhaps a newer dual celeron board would be
easier to find?
