Greetings all,
I am not sure if this is SMP related.
I am using the 2.3.99-pre3 kernel on my dual celeron 466 / Epox kp6 and shared
memory does not seem to be happening.
During boot up i am getting the following errors:

Apr 5 10:30:40 severin kernel: shmget: shm filesystem not mounted
Apr 5 10:30:40 severin kernel: shmget: shm filesystem not mounted

then the free command gives:
[matt@severin matt]$ free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 253808 129060 124748 0 2700 66356
-/+ buffers/cache: 60004 193804
Swap: 489900 0 489900

I then get repeated Gdk errors refering to shmget.

Does anyone know what is going on. Previous kernels do not give these errors.
Also, the speed of this machine seems **dramatically** faster with any 2.3.x
kernel compared to 2.2.x. (hence my preference for the newer kernels.) Are the
newer kernel SMP improvements that significant?

Cheers,
Matt
