We have been running poweredge 4300 with a mylex extremrRaid 1100
3 channel controller for about 5 months and I'm very happy about
performance. We have 6 18GB LVD drives partitioned into 16 4GB
partitions with one hot swap spare. The server servers over 100
linux hosts and we haven't have any problem so far.

We've also acquired two poweredge 4400s about three weeks ago.
Unfortunately the 4400s are completely different from the 4300s.
We haven't been able to make it work with the mylex controller.
