Hi,
After applying the 2.2.15aa1 patch to a freshly unpacked 2.2.15 kernel,
(and running that kernel)
the machine couldn't log on to the NIS domain anymore.
Doing /etc/rc.d/init.d/ypbind start only gives:
Binding to the NIS domain... [ OK ]
While it should give the following line as well:
Listening for an NIS domain server: nis01.linvision.com
I got the same result after applying the patch-2.2.15-plus from
ftp://fsr1.fh-bielefeld.de/pub/linux/reiserfs/
This patch patches among other things some SMP stuff.
I'm not sure what, I think it's the same thing as the aa1 thing does with
SMP, since I got the exact same problem.
Anyone can say something useful about this?
I got an Abit BP6 with two Celeron 466's, and an SMC Etherpower II card.
Thanks in advance,
Gerben Roest.
