Linux currently has a problem with TSC synch when used in an SMP box with different speed CPUs. The solution to this problem is fairly simple... essentially, disable the use of TSC when this has been determined. I am going to *attempt* to write a patch to do this, based almost entirely on the work done by others on this mailing list. However, my kernel hacking skills are almost completely nonexistant. So if someone else feels the urge to write this patch, that would be WONDERFUL, please let me know so I don't waste my time. I can even send you some code that might help you along. -- Christopher Thompson http://hypocrite.org/ One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them -- Fellowship of the Rings, movie, Christmas 2001 - Linux SMP list: FIRST see FAQ at http://www.irisa.fr/prive/dmentre/smp-howto/ To Unsubscribe: send "unsubscribe linux-smp" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
