o I shut down (gracefully) and checked all the connections and rebooted.

the raid array. If I have, what should I be looking for and how do I recover my
 system, please?

I'm still looking for a fix to my problem!

I've found a pair of recovery floppies (Yard) and managed to mount my md0 on /mnt.
Mdstat showed that /dev/sdc1 had been removed from the array. I then tried
raidhotadding /dev/sdc1 and the array started reconstructing. The disk previously
marked as failed (sdc1) was added to the array, but now I've got _two_other_
(previously good) disks marked as failed - and with two out of four disks failed, I
still can't recover the array!

This time the errors reported were:

raid5: md0 unrecoverable I/O error for block (various numbers).
Too many read errors, stopping reconstruction.
raid5 resync aborted.

I'm getting really pissed off with raid5 - it looks like I'm going to have to do yet
another complete reinstallation of the system! I'm convinced that it's not the disks -
I can format and check them for bad blocks with no reported errors. The SCSI card
appears to be OK (It's a SYM5C810A) and the cable's an ex IBM one - so that should be
OK.

Where do I go next - anyone?
