Dear sirs, I installed some IBM Netfinity 5500 using RedHat 6.2 and
2.2.16 kernel that I compiled from ftp.kernel.org sources.

All cpus are working well, except for some strange reboots that occurs,
as far as I can see, randomly, with no dependencies to load, process
numbers, disk access or user activity.

Some of these cpus are heavy loaded (mail servers for 3000 users,
approx.), other are cold stand by (no load at all), but they all seem to
reboot approx once a week.

This is the cpus configuration (hardware is brand new, installed and
placed by IBM technicians):

- IBM Netfinity 5500
    1 GB RAM
47 GB raid disk (IBM Serveraid 3H on motherboard. raid 5 + h.s.)
1 GB swap, one 10 MB boot partiotion, one / partition
    RedHat 6.2 + R.H. Updates
    AMD PCNet 32 network adapter
    Bios release 3.5.x
    IBM monitor G54

I think that it could be a SMP problem, since cpus appeared to be more
stable with non-MP "out of the box" RedHat 6.2 kernel.

During boot, I can see a message:

Jun 27 12:35:20 sp3b kernel: WARNING: MP table in the EBDA can be
UNSAFE, contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you experience SMP
problems!

so, I contacted you.

How can I disable the feature that generated this warning ?

Thank you in advance for your kind help, and greetings from Italy!

Best regards,
        Alessandro
