I would if I could, but it's not my decision ;-) Yeah, I use Icecast on a server I
set up for a radio station back at Ohio University (I graduated in June). In fact,
that's what helped me to land my current job... I'm gonna try the esdmon when I can,
but I need to set up the soundcard on my test box first. It's bleeding-edge Debian
Potato, and they recently messed with module configuration files. It took me nearly a
week to get sound working on my home PC (similar setup). Unfortunately, I've
forgotten how I did it :-p Since I have other stuff to do today, I'll probably wait
'till I get home to grab the config files. Although there is one strange problem...
/dev/dsp and /dev/audio don't exist. What creates those files? I have all of the
sound stuff compiled as modules. I am not yet passing any arguments in modules.conf
yet because I've forgotten which to use, so it just tries for the default. sb claims
that IRQ 7 is busy, though I seem to remember sb stuff being on!
IRQ 5... Anyway, I guess I'll just wait 'till tomorrow to see if I can get this mess
working.
