This is a feature of LiS-2.11 (maybe 2.10 as well). It heads off even more obscure
error messages at a later stage if the install proceeds.
When you rebuild your kernel you must also install it as the running kernel and
boot from it. I think that "make zlilo" or "make bzlilo" does the install and runs
lilo, but don't take my word for it -- double check with the kernel README.
