The file "Documentation/devices.txt" that comes with the 2.4 Linux kernel shows the following device number range: 240-254 LOCAL/EXPERIMENTAL USE I propose that LiS base its major device numbers at 240 by default. Maybe, in 2.6, they will expand the numbering space and we can get a block assigned to us. Right now I am hesitant to even ask since the first available number is now 226 and the limit it 255. These numbers are starting to get precious. -- Dave _______________________________________________ Linux-streams mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://gsyc.escet.urjc.es/mailman/listinfo/linux-streams
