Dear David,

Many greetings.

Currently i started a porting project to port C++
application from Solaris to Linux platform.
The Solaris application uses the STREAMS.

When i was searching in the net for the help in
porting the streams, i got some notes explaining
that we need to rewrite the STREAMS part of the code
in the LINUX using the Sockets.

But one of the document had explained that i can use
Lis for this purpose.
I require the following information for me to proceed
further with Lis.

1. If i use the Lis in the Linux environment, whether
the porting issues will be solved? (No need to change
any code?)
2. What are the areas that i need to rewrite even if i
use the Lis.
3. The procedure to use the Lis, during the porting
process.
4. What are the changes in the API of the STREAMs in
Solaris and Lis.

It would be of great help if you could reply to this
mail as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Regards,
Ranjith
