It might be worth bisecting down to the specific HYP/SMP change which
breaks things, it may just be a solvable bug.

Or if it turns out that the 3.4 kernel is simply incapable of being
booted in Non-Secure HYP mode then perhaps a u-boot env override could
be added, to either boot in NS kernel or S kernel modes instead?
