Yes I use your a31-sdcard.img and replace u-boot.bin in the linux dir with one built from scratch. > Have you tried flashing to the NAND? No. Note I've finished up my sun6i patch series (which includes your initial work) to make it ready for pushing to the official u-boot-sunxi git repo.
