If you're running the 3.4 kernel then the MAC address gets based on the unique serial each A10 SOC has burned into the SID prom it has. So it will be unique and consistent across reboots / different distros. I still need to make some time to add similar code to u-boot, so that it will too use this as a base for the MAC. Once u-boot has code to base the MAC on this, then the upstream kernels should automatically pick up this value from u-boot.
